日本の風物詩として古くから文学や詩歌に登場する蟷螂(とうろう=かまきり)や
蜻蛉(せいれい=とんぼ)などを、秋草と共に透かし彫りし金銀布目象嵌を施した晩夏初秋を
味わえる入念作。江戸時代中期。保存鑑定書付。

Seasonable insects such as a mantis and a dragonfly and so on, are often depicted
in literature and poem from old times as a seasonable motif, and give us an impression
of late summer and early autumn. It is attributed to a metal worker in Bu-shu
(=Musahi province, around Tokyo and Saitama area.). 18c. With a suitable wood box
and Hozon certificate paper.

 2) 目貫 二疋獅子図 後藤(無銘)

連れ添う獅子を金無垢地に量感良く打ち出し、巧みな鏨使いで力強さを出している。
後藤家は足利家はじめ、代々将軍家に仕え江戸時代末まで17代続いた。
