1) 鐔  李白観瀑図

李白は中国・唐時代 (8c)を代表する詩人。
本作は、李白が童子を従え仏教の霊山である廬
山の瀧を訪れ、その大自然の雄大なる力に接し、詩を思い浮かべている場景であろうか。
石山基薫(もとただ)には、本作の様に片切彫りで人物を題した鐔などがあり、巧みで知られる。
寛文9年(1669)に京都で生まれ、享保19年(1734)に66歳で没した。保存鑑定書付。

This design is called Rihaku (= He is very famous Chinese poet in the Tang dynasty, 8c.)
Kan-baku (=watching the big waterfall).
Rihaku with high-minded men are watching the big waterfall at Lu shan, and the scene
is depicted on the polished surface skillfully. This is made by Ishiyama Mototada (1669-1734)
who was born in Kyoto. Hozon certificate paper.

2) 光明帆船透図 京正阿弥(無銘)

光明に照らされた雲の下、荒波に負けず海面を進む帆船を透かし彫りした京正阿弥派の
技巧品。
全国で大いに栄えた正阿弥派発祥の地である京の洗練された構図に、華やかな金象嵌が
映える透かし鐔。江戸時代中期。特別貴重認定書付。

Elaborate Tsuba by kyo-Shoami School which was described sailing ships traveling in the
waves above the clouds overhead illuminated by the light.
Kyoto is the birthplace of the Shoami school which prospered greatly throughout the country
from the end of Muromachi. It is showing fine gold inlay technique and craftsmanship well.

3) 鐔 藻貝に蔓草図 (無銘)

寸法:縦74.5×横70.0×厚さ4.5 (mm)
装身具や貨幣として重用された多種の貝を表、強い生命力を持つ縁起良い蔓草を裏に
赤銅据文で配した、夏の海を味わえる好画題。江戸時代中期。

It is a combination of a variety of shellfish which is regarded as a treasure from ancient
times, and vines which has a strong life force, are depicted by Shakudo metal. 18c.

4) 目貫 貝尽し図 古金工 (無銘)

鮑、蛤や法螺貝等の様々な貝を丁寧に彫り込んだ、夏の海の図。
古金工とは、桃山時代以前の後藤家や美濃等を除く金工作群の総称。
味わいある古雅な雰囲気は人気が高い。桃山時代。保存鑑定書付。

This is a motif of Summer Ocean which a variety of shellfish like an abalone, a clam and a
conch shell was carved together. Ko-kinko is a metal worker group which was active before
Momoyama period (circa 1600) except Goto and Mino school etc. Their classical and refined
style is highly valued. Hozon certificate paper. 16c.

5) 三桐透図 肥後(無銘)

寸法:縦80.0×横78.5×厚さ5.0 (mm)
瑞兆の象徴である鳳凰が棲むとされる桐は、皇室や将軍家等の紋所として用いられた。
しっとりとした鍛え良い鉄地を菊花形に仕立て、桐を大胆に透かし毛彫りで葉脈を表している。文武を重んじた細川家庇護のもと、多くの名工を生んだ肥後金工は、江戸時代より人気が高い。江戸時代中期。保存鑑定書付。

A phoenix which is auspicious symbol is believed to live in paulownia tree (Kiri), and
paulownia is used as a noble crest of the Imperial Family and Shogun and so on.
Well-forged iron is formed to the chrysanthemum shape, the paulownia leaves are engraved
in openwork boldly and the veins of leaves are carved carefully.
Federal lord of Kumamoto, Hosokawa family who respect the both the literary and military
arts, encourage making sword fittings, and their works has been highly valued since Edo
period. 18c. Hozon certificate paper.
